It designed specifically to be connected to the powered zone 2 of a surround receiver and allow you to connect multiple pairs of speakers throughout the house. The DLA router will activately monitor the incoming power, how many speakers you have on , and at what volume they are turned up too. Then it will take that information and protect your surround receiver or amplifier while still sending the maximum power to only the speakers that are turned on.  A truely Green solution with no wasted power.
